POLTAVA

Poltava region has a population of around 1.75 million people (350,000 within the city) and is situated on the left bank of the Dnipro River. The climate in the area is moderate and the city has a great history dating back to before the eleventh century. As with many Ukrainian cities, the ruling hands have changed many times and monuments to the battles of old can be seen all over the city. The city has a lively nightlife, many good restaurants and a wide variety of museums and theatres.
