KRYVYI RIH

The city was founded in 1919 as a mining center and became the center of Kryvyi Rih iron ore-mining basin, a huge area in the southwest of Dnipropetrovsk region.

The city lies on the River Ingulets some 125 km to the southwest of the regional center and has about 700,000 inhabitants. The city has its own airport connecting it with some other cities and regional centers of Ukraine.
