DONETSK REGION

Donetsk is located in Southeastern Ukraine in the steppe belt, reaching the Sea of Azov. The region consists of an undulating plain. The principal river is the Siversky Donets. The climate is temperate-continental. Established in 1932. Area: 26,500 sq. Km. Population: 5,377,000.
