DNIPROPETROVSK

Founded in 1706, the city is situated in South-Eastern part of Ukraine and is one of the largest industrial centres of the country. The population is more that 1.5 million. In Soviet times the city of Dnipropetrovsk was closed to foreign guests as a major centre of rocket-building. It was only in 1991 that the ban of foreign visits was lifted and the people of Dnipropetrovsk could show their hospitality at last. Businessmen are especially encouraged to visit Dnipropetrovsk.
