Cherkassy - visit to the Ukrainian Farm in Lesski village
When the ships stop in the port of Cherkassy, our guests have a possibility to get to know the life of the Ukrainian farm. Within 25 km distance from the pier there is Lesski village where you will be told about the life of the Ukrainian farmers today, and where you will experience their hospitality. The tourists are met with the bread and salt and the songs according to the Ukrainian tradition. You will be informed about the agrarian reform and the privatization of the land you will see the local kindergarten and hospital. Bakhchissarai
The former capital of the Crimean Tatars is situated 75 km from Sevastopol. On the way to Bakhchisarai you will see the Northern part of the Crimean island with the landscapes of gardens, roses and lavender plantations, etc. In one hour you will suddenly find yourself in the East - the architecture of the former residence of Khan Girey is the mixture of different styles from Russia, Italy, Ukraine and Turkey. Pirogovo
Within the 40 minutes' driving distance from the pier situated the open-air museum of the national culture and everyday life - Pirogovo. On the territory of 150 ha you will find the monuments of the Ukrainian architecture, among them the splendid wooden mills and churches; the old forge and the pottery that make the guests known of the traditional crafts in Ukraine; the old school where you will find the old scores. The majority of the buildings are wooden. During the warm summer days the numerous folk groups perform there, the craftsmen demonstrate their art. You will see even the policemen on horses!!!

 

 

Lavra
In 989 the Kiev Russ was baptized, and from that time on there appeared numerous churches and monasteries Starting with the 11th century the male and female monasteries are traced in Kiev Rus. Kiev Cave Monastery was founded in the caves in 1051 by the monks. It had become the center of the education and literacy. The first monks lived in the caves. Later, on erecting the Assumption cathedral the caves served as burial places for the monks, that's why the numerous mummies can be found here today. The caves preserve many mysteries. To visit them you have to buy a candle to light your way. There are more than 80 buildings of the different epoques on the territory of Lavra. During the tour you will see the Trinity Gate Church (1106) with the former cells of the monks that were built in the 18th cent. Today the church houses some museums, among them the museum of the Ukrainian icon painting of the 17th-19th centuries. The architectural dominant of the Monastery is the Bell Tower (1744). With the height of 96.5 m it is the highest bell tower in Ukraine. The Assumption Cathedral (1073-1078) was restored 2 times - after the fire of 1718 and after the explosion of 1941. The Refectory Church, the former printing house, houses the museum of the treasures of Ukraine, among which you will see the famous masterpieces of the Scythian Gold. The Church of All Saints is the masterpiece of the Ukrainian Baroque.

 

 

Cossack Horse Show
It is often you can hear a word "Cossack" in Ukraine. This word exists from the 14 century and means a free, an independent person. Peasant serfs, who escaped from advocates of serfdom, were survived in a "free place" on the Dnieper River on Hortiza Island and had founded its own state. Cossacks had their own laws and traditions; they hated richness, conducted moderate way of living and most of all rated weapons and good horses. In the Museum of Cossacks History you can learn a lot of Cossacks' life. During the Cossack Horse show on the Hortiza Island you could see some traditional Cossack games and get to know how they spent time between battles: riding the horses, playing with a whip, dancing. The guests would be offered to taste the Cossack kulish accompanying with Ukrainian music, to take a part in a funny acrobatic show. During the tour you can also buy pictures and wooden figures of Cossacks

 

 

Odessa Opera Theatre
It is worth visiting a famous Odessa Opera and Ballet Theatre. An old building of the Opera House was destroyed by fire in 1873 and after that architects from Vienna Felner and Gelmer (1884-87) built new Music House. The inner apartments are designed more grandiose than the facade of Opera Theatre. Here very famous musicians, singers, ballet dancers and artists present their art to public. Our guests will have a wonderful possibility to enjoy a beautiful performance in Odessa Opera Theatre.
